I got a Little Mermaid room as that was the only option to choose from. The room itself was somewhat cutely decorated, very Disney clean, no complaints there.
A couple things that made me give only three stars included there was no lotion in the room, no coffee maker (and a decent hike to the cafe) and the rooms were outdoor rooms compared to the other themed buildings. For little kids I get the allure, but since I was by myself (for work) I wasn't wowed and would not stay again. I did walk through the cars area and that seemed much cuter, so perhaps that is the better area to stay, or Nemo. The service was what I would expect from a Disney resort - accommodating and friendly.
The resort itself is large and the walk between buildings was more than I have experienced at other (non-Disney) resorts. My only issue was with the room delivery - I ordered a gift to be delivered to the room, but they wouldn't deliver it without someone to sign as it had alcohol in it. I was fine with this, but I ended up having to sign for it at the front desk and carry it back to the room myself, trying to sneak it past the person it was for. It would have been more convenient if I could have signed earlier and just had it delivered during the day! We stayed two night in the beginning of March at Disney’s Art of Animation, we arrived at the resort at 10:30am and checked in but our room was not available till 3:00. We checked in our luggage so we could go straight to the parks, I gave my phone number so we would get a text message when our room was ready.
The staff were super friendly and courteous the hallways were covered in beautiful art work from the movies. We got our text just before 3:00 but didn’t go back till after 8:00 to our room. We went straight to our room in building #9 in the little mermaid side.
With our wrist bands we were able to enter our room and it was nice and clean. Very happy with our stay and we will definitely beck returning for another visit. We took our 3 year old grandson for his first visit to Disney.

We stayed in a Lion King family suite for three days. There was plenty of room for the four of us. Loved the decor and the added bonus of having 2 bathrooms. All the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of clean linens and towels in our room. I actually loved the Murphy bed!
It was a easy walk to the pool, lobby and food court. As adults we enjoyed hanging out at the outside bar.
Transportation to the parks and Disney Springs was good although it did require a longer walk to the transportation areas when returning to the resort. Only downside was one day it was so late when someone came to service our room we had to decline the room refresh. I’m happy to have the opportunity to read about your family’s recent visit.
It’s great to know that you enjoyed your Lion King Suite and that it had all the amenities you need for a great stay including and extra bathroom to make getting ready in the morning a breeze. I’m also very glad that you enjoy many of the other Resort amenities like our complimentary transportation and on-site dining locations. Thank you for taking the time to review your visit and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Betty Disney Social Reviews.
